Our maps are derived and processed by OpenStreetMap® data builted by a community of mappers that contribute and maintain data all over the world.
OpenStreetMap® is open data, licensed under the Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL) by the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF).
We and our users are free to copy, distribute, transmit and adapt our data, as long as we or our users credit OpenStreetMap and its contributors.
Our Terrain, Hillshades and Contour data are derived and processed by us in house from USGS U.S. Geological Survey open data and U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Our night tiles are derived from NASA tiles.
Our satellite tiles are derived and processed by us in house from Landsat courtesy of the U.S. Geological Survey and NASA, from Sentinel-2 under the Open Access compliant Creative Commons CC BY-SA 3.0 IGO licence.
The cartography and visual design features of the map tile schema are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license.

3DEP (formerly NED) are several public domain datasets released by USGS:
All 3DEP products available through The National Map are in the public domain and may be used without restriction.
However, the USGS does request that proper credit be given when used for redistribution, resale, presentation or publication.

SRTM is a public domain dataset released as follows, circa 2000 by NASA/NGA with several updates including in 2014, now distributed by USGS:
a. Copyright protection is asserted for all products generated by these specifications which are distributed outside of the United States. No domestic copyright will be asserted.
b. The copyright notice (with year of production inserted) states:
